Clip of the Week: November 30, 2022

On November 30, 2022 by Elyse

What do you drink when it’s too cold for sangria but too early in the year to break out the eggnog?

Vegetables not only contain stimulants but are capable of producing an intoxicating influence on those who depend on them exclusively for food, according to an investigator. He cites a case in which some young people of his acquaintance suffered from partial intoxication as a result of a purely vegetable meal.

– The Mexico Missouri Message, August 23, 1906

Forget everything you learned as a child: beer is a health food and vegetables are bad for you. I can only hope notorious vegetable-eater Gladys Mason brought along a designated driver, er, walker on her trek across the country.

Am I trying too hard?

Somehow I just can’t picture 14 year old me and my buddies sneaking under the football bleachers with a bag of carrots instead of a bottle of MD 20/20….

😂🤣 It’s just as well…think of the poor public health officials: “Kids, eat your vegetables!” “Kids, don’t you dare eat your vegetables!” Talked about a mixed message.
